Discovery Sport now available with the Ingenium diesel engine

Jaguar Land Rover has quietly discontinued the 2.2-litre diesel powered Discovery Sport. The 2-litre Ingenium TD4 diesel now powers the range and is available in two states of tune – 148bhp and 177bhp.

The 177bhp unit is available only in the top of the line HSE and HSE Luxury variants while the 148bhp unit is available in all, except the base Pure trim. The Ingenium unit making 148bhp and 382Nm of torque allows the 7-seater SUV to hit 100kmph in 10.3 seconds, going all the way to 180kmph. On the other hand, the more powerful 177bhp and 430Nm unit does it in 8.2 seconds while the top speed is 200kmph. The engine in all the states of tune is mated to a 9-speed gearbox.

The Discovery Sport goes up against the likes of the Mercedes-Benz GLC, Audi Q5 and BMW X3.
