Bentley Bentayga launched at Rs 3.85 crore

In the world of excesses, Bentley features somewhere at the top. The Bentayga, Bentley’s first SUV is for those who indulge in these excesses. It’s costs a whopping Rs 3.85 crore for the most expensive production luxury SUV in the world, and if you want to keep your watch at home, you could specify the Rs 1.43 crore Breitling Mulliner tourbillion dashboard clock with it.

For the money, besides the BMW M5 worth of clock, you get a 6.0-litre W12 engine developing 600bhp of power and 900Nm of torque. 0-100kmph comes in a brisk 4.1 seconds, as quick as all the Ms and AMGs and RS cars, and the 2.4 tonne leather clad Bentley can hit a top speed of 301kmph. The engine comes mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox sending power to all four wheels. The Bentayga comes with a unique dynamic ride system that uses a electrically controlled active roll technology powered by a 48V system.

The Bentayga gets the family Bentley grille, headlamps that resemble those from the Continental GT, huge 22 inch alloy wheels and a large greenhouse with a sloping rear windscreen. The front bumper gets massive air dams to keep the W12 engine cool and under it, is a skid plate to emphasize the SUV’s off-road capability.

The interior is bathed in high quality leather and appropriately expensive materials. The dashboard design resembles the wings of the Bentley logo, the seats get 22-way power adjustment, six-programme massage system, heating and ventilation.
