Behold the Rolls-Royce Sweptail

Rolls-Royce has been a master at coach building since the early 1900s. When one of the connoisseur’s of Rolls-Royce cars asked the company to build a one-off model, paying homage to the 1920s cars with swept-tails, the iconic carmaker couldn’t really say no and the modern age Sweptail was born.

Say hello to this one-off Rolls-Royce that was showcased at Concorso d’Eleganza at Villa d’Este. The designers worked with the customer to generate a design that comes with coupe derived elements and a massive panoramic sunroof. It also sees the largest Pantheon grille ever featured on a Rolls-Royce car. The massive length is masked by the yacht like design elements.

On the inside, the central console houses a bar! Yes, a bar that holds a bottle of the client’s favourite champagne along with two crystal flutes. Also housed by the doors are two identical panniers on each door which hide handmade briefcases which can be accessd via a button. How much more exclusive can it get?

Giles Taylor, Director of Design at Rolls-Royce Motor Cars commented at the launch that, “Sweptail is the automotive equivalent of Haute Couture. It is a Rolls-Royce designed and hand-tailored to fit a specific customer. This customer came to the House of Rolls-Royce with an idea, shared in the creative process where we advised him on his cloth, and then we tailored that cloth to him. You might say we cut the cloth for the suit of clothes that he will be judged by.”

Obviously, the company hasn’t revealed the price but if you want to get one, you might have to sell your whole family and then ask Rolls-Royce to make you another one.
