Auto Expo 2016: Chevrolet announce Essentia notchback and Beat Activ

With two new cars, Chevrolet attempt to regain brand consciousness in the sub-continent.

General Motors have announced that in the years to come, there primary objective would be to ensure the growth of their brand presence in the subcontinent. Spearheading this operation will be the Chevrolet Essentia, which is a four door notch back set to launch in 2017. From the looks of it, the Essentia is a re-jigged version of the existing Sail U-VA. Chevrolet however hasn’t announced any technical details for the Essentia.

That aside Chevrolet has also announced a cross-over version of their Beat. Sans-cladding, the car will be the same as the existing Beat. However as we’ve seen in the past, cross-over siblings of standard hatches tend to be high volume sellers in the subcontinent.

The real showstoppers for the American brand was the Camaro, Corvette ZR-1 and the Colorado pick-up truck on display at the expo.
